What is The SRQ Club? The SRQ Club was founded by David Marsh along with 9 close friends in 1991 as a gentlemen's social club. We are arguably the oldest and most respected "gentlemen's club" in Sarasota. The primary mission of the SRQ Club is to create social opportunities for its membership to enjoy. The Club operates much like a fraternity. We have business meetings, planned parties, and special events. This makes it easy and fun for members to make new friendships, network, and meet girls depending on what's important to you. The club has something to offer just about everyone. Check out our website at www.srqclub.com . How many members are there and what are they like?We have both married and single members. There are more than 50 members and we range in age from the 20's- 40's. Our common bond is that we all share a commitment to Sarasota, like to party, and enjoy meeting new people. We consider our friendships to be an extremely important part of our lives. Why should I join? You can never have too many good friends! The Club makes it easy to meet new people. There are usually between 3-6 parties/events every month that members can enjoy. These events include poker nights, house parties, beach/boat parties, road trips, and formal dinners. Although business networking is not our focus, many members have found The Club to be very valuable in this respect. The SRQ Club hosts an exclusive private party each year called Carpe Diem. Carpe Diem is a black-tie, invite only extravaganza held in Sarasota that draws upwards of 300 guests. The event features an open bar, buffet-style meal, and a band. What rules does The SRQ Club have? There are two primary obligations of each member: pay dues and host at least one party per year. Our dues are $550 per year payable in two installments. While a small portion of the dues goes towards the administrative costs of running The Club, most of our dues go towards our annual Carpe Diem party. Each member receives 10 invitations to the event which can be given to friends and associates. How do I join?Simply get to know the guys in the Club! We are a tight knit group and want to make sure that our members are in agreement before extending someone an invitation to join The Club. A good way to do this is to attend our social functions and perspective member events. We meet for Happy Hours on the last Thursday of every month. It's an easy way to meet our members and determine if the club is right for you. Send an email to: to receive e-mail notices of our upcoming events. |
